Your documents stay under your control.

RightlyOwed uses the documents you choose to upload to compare a wireless promotion with the credits shown on your bills.

What we collect

You choose which promotion records, trade-in confirmations, and wireless bills to upload. We store those source files with the case and create extracted details such as dates, credit amounts, and device information so you can review the finding.

An email address is optional. If you provide one, it is used to send a secure link back to that case. You do not need an account, carrier password, PIN, or one-time code.

How we use your documents

  • Compare promotion terms and trade-in timing with the billing periods in your uploaded bills.
  • Show the expected credits, credits found, and any estimated difference that the available evidence supports.
  • Prepare an optional detailed audit and message for support only when a free result identifies a potential credit discrepancy.

RightlyOwed is independent. We do not sell source documents, ask for carrier credentials, or contact your carrier on your behalf.

Optional OpenAI transcription

When optional OpenAI document transcription is enabled, a scanned PDF or image may be sent to OpenAI so visible text can be read. OpenAI receives the document and a transcription instruction. OpenAI does not decide eligibility, calculate money, or turn the document into a claim.

When optional OpenAI transcription is unavailable, scanned documents follow the unavailable or insufficient-evidence path rather than being sent for transcription.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Your case is available for up to 30 days by default. After that period, access expires. Uploaded source files are kept private and removed according to the case retention policy. Extracted details, recovery email, payment or accounting records, and audit events may remain where operationally required.

Expiration disables access; it does not by itself promise immediate removal of retained case records. Keep your own copies of any documents you may need later.

Returning to a case

Recovery email is optional and only helps you return to the case on another device. A secure recovery link expires after 30 minutes and can be used once. Without an email, access remains tied to the current session.
